Black Lives Matter – Resources

At this time, a lot of people have gone back to sharing their regular content on their social media, and are sharing information and support for the Black Lives Matter movement less. I know this doesn’t necessarily mean that people have stopped caring. I also know that a lot of people are taking this time to continue educating themselves on the topic of systemic racism, as well as continuing to have these important conversations offline. So, I wanted to share some resources that I’ve seen recommended by others in order for everyone to be able to continue to educate themselves. Whether you prefer listening to podcasts, watching TV, or reading, you should be able to find a helpful resource in this list.

TV Programs/Films

  • Explained: The Racial Wealth Gap
  • Time: The Kalief Browder Story
  • When They See Us
  • Oprah Winfrey Presents: When They See Us Now
  • 13th
  • Who Killed Malcolm X?
  • Seven Seconds
  • 12 Years a Slave
  • Detroit
  • Strong Island
  • #BlackAF

Books

Podcasts

  • 1619
  • The Nod
  • Still Processing
  • About Race
  • Cape Up: Voices of the Movement
  • Witness History: Witness Black History

This is obviously not an exhaustive list. There are so many resources out there, so if you have any others that you’d recommend, please let us know in the comments below.

Thank you.
